New to Skool? Start with the Skool community guide. It covers what Skool is, free vs paid groups and how to keep members.
1What does done-for-you Skool growth include?
| Piece | What we build | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Free group | The About page, the walkthrough video script, the first lessons and a quick win for day one | The About page is your sales page |
| Paid tier | A paid level inside the group, with monthly and yearly prices | Steady monthly money that pays for ads |
| Upsells | The path from the paid tier to your high-ticket program | Where most of the money is |
| Ads | Meta ads into the group, starting with 30 ready-made ads | Traffic every day, not only when you post |
| Onboarding | Welcome emails, a short video series and a weekly rhythm of posts and calls | Members who get a win stay and buy |
| Booking | A booking flow with a few questions, plus reminders | Engaged members turn into calls |
| Sales scripts | Setter messages and closer scripts, with call reviews | Calls turn into clients |
| Tracking | One screen in CashTracker.io, our own software | Cost per member, per call and per client |

2How does a Skool funnel make money?
| Step | What happens | Number to watch | Benchmark |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ad to About page | The ad sends people to your group | Cost per visit | Depends on niche and ad |
| About page to member | They join free | About page conversion | Free groups about 20%, paid groups about 4% |
| Free to paid | Some join the paid tier | Share who pay | Track your own in month one |
| Paid tier stays | They pay again next month | Monthly retention | About 80% on average, 90%+ in the best groups |
| Member to call | The most engaged book a call | Share booked | About a third of joiners get on a call |
| Call to client | Your closer makes the sale | Close rate | 30% to 50% of those calls close |
Why put a group in front of your calls at all? Group funnels cut the cost of a booked call from about $250 to about $40. The group warms people up like an email list, but people talk back. If one of your steps sits far below these numbers, find the exact bottleneck in your business before you add traffic.
3The Skool growth calculator
Use one month of numbers. Paying members build up over 12 months, as new members join and some leave.
Aim for at least $1.20 back for every $1 of ads.
Lift retention from 80% to 90% and month 12 recurring goes from $6,985 to $10,764.
Want your Skool numbers sent to you?
Leave your email and we will send you this breakdown, plus the one step we would fix first.
We only use this to send your numbers and to follow up about your client acquisition. If you add a mobile, we may call or text you about it.4How does the 14-day build work?
| When | What happens | Your part |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Kickoff call. We map your offer, your members and your high-ticket step | Send access within 72 hours |
| Days 2 to 10 | We write the About page, ads, emails and scripts, and build the group, the paid tier and the booking flow | Record three short videos from scripts we write. Approve each piece within 48 hours |
| Day 12 | Ads are set up and ready to launch | Fund the ad account |
| Day 14 | Live and taking bookings | Show up to your calls |
| The next 30 days | We stay with you until it is booking calls | Deliver to your clients |
If the full system isn't live and taking bookings within 14 days of kickoff, we keep working for free until it is. The clock pauses while a step is waiting on you. We don't guarantee revenue.
5What has it done for real clients?
One client had a good front end and nothing recurring. We built an annual membership and the path into it. It went from zero to $143K a year in recurring revenue, most of it profit. Another creator had reach but no offer. We built the offer, the community and the ascension. That produced 14 million views in 14 days and a $40K a month community, plus $30K in ascension sales. Not typical.

Anshjeet Singh won the Skool Games twice, finishing top 10 of 87,000+ entrepreneurs. The first time he had 327 followers and spent nothing on ads. His team builds the same system for clients today.
6Who is this for, and who is it not for?
- Coaches, consultants and experts
- A high-ticket program people buy on calls
- You or a closer can take the calls
- You can fund ads from $150 a day
- No offer that has sold yet
- You want someone to fund your ads for a cut
- You want a template and a report
- You want a hobby group with no next step
If your offer hasn't sold yet, we will tell you to fix that first.
7What does done-for-you Skool growth cost?
The build is a one-time five-figure install, with the exact number on the call. Ad spend is separate and is paid straight to Meta from your own account, from $150 a day. Skool's own plan fee is paid to Skool.
| Cost | Who you pay | How often |
|---|---|---|
| The build | Cashflow Coaches | Once. No retainer to start |
| Ad spend | Meta, from your own ad account | Daily, from $150 a day |
| Skool plan | Skool | Monthly |
You own the group, the pages, the list, the ad account and the data. To see what one high-ticket client costs you once it runs, use the client acquisition cost calculator. To compare this with a monthly agency, read agency vs done-for-you.

8Worked example: Rosa fixes retention
Made-up example. Rosa is a fitness coach with a $3,000 program. She spends $4,500 a month on ads into a free group.
| Line | The maths | Result |
|---|---|---|
| About page visits | $4,500 ÷ $1.50 | 3,000 |
| Free members | 3,000 × 20% | 600 ($7.50 each) |
| New paying members | 600 × 5% | 30 a month |
| Booked calls | 600 × 5% | 30 ($150 each) |
| High-ticket clients | 30 × 60% show × 25% close | 4.5 a month |
| High-ticket revenue | 4.5 × $3,000 | $13,500 a month |
| Paying members, month 12 | 30 a month at 80% retention | 140 ($6,985 a month) |
Her group has 40 lessons and three calls a week. Members say they feel behind. Skool owners report that too much content makes members feel behind, and that cutting unused lessons can drop churn sharply, in one group from 30% to 5.2%. She cuts the classroom down to what gets a member their first win, and keeps one post, one call and one recording a week. Retention goes from 80% to 90%. Nothing else changes.
- 140 paying members
- $20,485 total in month 12
- 4.6x on ad spend
- 215 paying members
- $24,264 total in month 12
- 5.4x on ad spend
Made-up example. Same $4,500 of ads, fewer lessons.
9How do Skool members become high-ticket clients?
Good groups turn about 10% of joiners into buyers of the next offer, by getting about a third of joiners on a call and closing 30% to 50% of those calls.
- A quick win on day one. One lesson that gets a real result fast. Members who get a win stay longer and buy more.
- A short video series inside the group. It explains the bigger result and ends with an invite to a call.
- A weekly live session. Answer questions, show wins, and invite the people who want more.
- Setters message the most active members. The leaderboard tells you who they are.
- A booking flow with a few questions. Then reminders until they show up.
How do you know a member is ready for a call?
Likes and member count do not predict sales. These behaviours do. Our rule: do not pitch a member until they show two of them.
| What the member does | What it means | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Asks a "how do I actually" question | They are trying to do it now | Answer in full, then offer a call |
| Comments on case studies or member wins | They are checking if it works for people like them | Send the breakdown and ask what result they want |
| Comes back after weeks of quiet | Something changed in their life or business | Message them that day |
| Sends you a detailed DM | They are comparing options | Reply properly. It is a sales conversation |
| Only reads, never posts | They are still learning | Leave them alone. Lurking is normal |

10Which lead magnets should you create for your Skool community?
A lead magnet inside a Skool group has one job: solve one small problem fast, then show the member the next problem. The next problem is what your paid tier or your call solves. You get several times more eventual buyers from the same traffic when you lead with a small offer that fully solves a narrow problem and reveals the next one.
- Name it for the result. "The First Deal Roadmap" gets downloaded. "Module 3 resources" does not.
- Make it reveal a problem with a number. "Reveal a problem" magnets work best when they put a cost on the problem. A score out of 100 does this.
- Make people ask for it. Post it with "comment ROADMAP and I will send it". Every comment starts a private conversation, and those conversations turn into calls.
11When do paid members leave?
| Member has been in | Monthly churn |
|---|---|
| Months 1 to 3 | About 20% |
| Around day 90 | 10% or less |
| Month 6 and after | About 2% or less |
So the first 90 days decide most of it. That is why we put the onboarding emails, the day-one win and the weekly rhythm in before the ads go live. A yearly plan at about 17% off also lowers churn. And many groups get 20% to 40% of new members from member referrals, with Skool's own Discovery search sending about a quarter of all memberships.
12What to do this week
- Put your real numbers in the calculator. Note your weakest step.
- Rewrite your About page in about an hour. An hour is enough, because traffic grows more than conversion ever will.
- Build lead magnet #1 from the generator. Post it with the comment keyword and send the DM to everyone who comments.
- Track who shows two buying signals. Offer those members a call, and nobody else.

Frequently asked questions
What is Skool community growth?
It is getting more of the right people into your Skool group, keeping them, and moving the best of them up to your paid tier and your high-ticket program. Growth is traffic times About page conversion. Money is what happens after they join.
How do you grow a Skool community fast?
Send paid or organic traffic to your About page every day, make the About page convert with a short walkthrough video, and give new members a quick win on day one. One group lifted its About page conversion from about 0.5% to 2.2% just by adding a walkthrough video.
Can you run Facebook ads to a Skool community?
Yes. Skool owners report running Meta ads straight to the About page, with no extra funnel, and building six figures a month in recurring revenue. We add the emails, the booking flow and the tracking around it so every member can become a call.
How much does a done-for-you Skool funnel cost?
Our install is a one-time five-figure fee, with the exact number on the call. Ad spend is separate and is paid straight to Meta from your own account, from $150 a day. There is no monthly retainer to start.
Should my Skool group be free or paid?
If you sell a high-ticket program, start with a free group and add a paid tier inside it. Skool owners commonly report free groups converting about 20% of About page visitors, against about 4% for paid groups. More free members means more people to book onto calls.
How do you turn Skool members into high-ticket clients?
Operators commonly use a free onboarding call for each new member, a short video series inside the group that ends with an invite, a weekly live session, and setters who message the most active members. Good operators report about 10% of joiners buying the next offer.
How do you stop members leaving a paid Skool group?
Keep it light: one post, one call and one recording a week. One owner cut churn from 30% to 5.2% by deleting content nobody used. An annual plan at about 17% off also lowers churn.
What are the Skool Games?
The Skool Games are a competition Skool runs for community owners. Anshjeet Singh, the founder of Cashflow Coaches, has won it twice. He finished top 10 out of 87,000+ entrepreneurs with 327 followers and zero ad spend.
What lead magnets work in a Skool community?
The ones that solve one small problem fast and show the next problem, which your paid tier or call solves. For members who are stuck, a scorecard that puts a number on their gap works best. For new members, a one-page roadmap or a 5-day sprint. For members already getting results, a numbers sheet or a free teardown of their plan.

Rosa is a made-up example. Her numbers show how the maths works and are not a client result. Benchmarks on this page are what other operators report. They are not Cashflow Coaches results and not a promise. The green, amber and red bands are rough guides. Every real result on this page is a past result from a specific client. None of them is typical.
