1What is GoHighLevel, in one minute?
GoHighLevel (also HighLevel or GHL) is one account for your contacts, pipeline, texts, email, calendars, funnel pages, forms, payments and automations.
Each business lives in a sub-account. Plans start at $97 a month for up to 3 of them. Texts, email and calls are billed on top. Setup basics are in what GoHighLevel is and how coaches set it up.

2How do we score GoHighLevel by category?
We weighted each score by what moves money for a coach who sells on calls. Follow-up counts most. Page design counts least.
| Category | Score | Weight | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Automation | 9 | 25% | Workflows run texts, emails, waits, tasks and branches off any trigger. |
| CRM and pipeline | 9 | 20% | Unlimited contacts and users. Pipelines match how leads move from booked to closed. |
| Text delivery | 6 | 15% | Works well when registered and clean. Punishes dirty lists hard (see our account data). |
| Price | 8 | 15% | $97 flat for one business. Usage is published, but it adds up. |
| 8 | 10% | $0.675 per 1,000 sends. Needs your own domain set up to land well. | |
| Funnels and pages | 7 | 5% | Fine for opt-in, booking and thank-you pages. Slower for design-heavy pages. |
| Support and learning curve | 6 | 5% | Settings live in two places and menus move. Expect weeks, not days. |
| Reporting | 6 | 5% | Fine for a few reps. A big sales floor will want more. |
| Weighted overall | 7.9 | 100% | Rounded to 8/10 |

3What does GoHighLevel do well?
- It replaces a stack. CRM, texting, email, calendar, pages and forms. One login, one bill, no broken links between tools.
- Workflows. A lead gets a text two minutes after opting in, at 3am or not.
- No per-seat fee. Add a setter or 50,000 leads and the plan price stays the same.
- Snapshots. Save a whole build and load it into a new account in minutes.
- One inbox. Texts, emails and social messages land in one thread per lead.
4What are the cons of GoHighLevel?
- Steep learning curve. Agency and sub-account settings are split, and menus move between updates.
- Usage adds up. A coach running weekly webinars can see a bill three times the plan price. Our pricing calculator shows yours.
- Text delivery needs care. Bad lists and promo copy get you restricted fast.
- Basic team reporting. Fine for a coach. Thin for a sales floor with managers.
5What do we see in the accounts we run?
Numbers from three client accounts, August to October 2026, names left out.
| Account | What we found | What fixed it |
|---|---|---|
| A: webinar business, 30 days | 19,600 texts sent, 11,300 failed. Around a 10% error rate, HighLevel puts a temporary restriction on sending. Every text after that failed with its own error code (3111). Only about 1,050 were real carrier failures, 718 of them carrier filtering. | 119 dead numbers set to Do Not Disturb. Promo texts moved to email. Daily send limit cut from 10,000 to 316 as a circuit breaker, then raised to 12,500 once clean. An auto Do-Not-Disturb workflow for invalid numbers. |
| B: 30 days, 11 Aug to 9 Sep 2026 | 6,189 failed texts from 1,681 numbers. 928 numbers failed for reasons other than filtering, 368 of them unreachable. | 609 matching contacts set to text Do Not Disturb. The 753 numbers that were only filtered were kept. |
| C: audit | 49 workflows, 40 published. Several were still armed with texts from an older offer. | Rewrote or unpublished each one, then checked every live text against one source file. |
Carriers filtered prices, "only 3 spots left", bare links, ALL CAPS and text-speak. Plain, chatty texts got through fine. Keep each number under 150 texts a day, sent on weekdays from about 9am to 6 or 7pm.
When texts fail, reminders fail and calls do not show. Operators running high ticket funnels commonly report that two or three separate confirmations from a lead push show rate to about 80%. Check yours with the show rate calculator.
6Which GoHighLevel complaints are fair?
Common themes from Reddit, Trustpilot and forums, with our call on each.
| Complaint | Our call | Why |
|---|---|---|
| "It is too much to learn" | Fair | It does a lot, and settings are split. Build the booked-call path first and ignore the rest for a month. |
| "My bill is way over $97" | Fair | Texts, email, calls and AI are extra. The rates are public, so it can be planned for. |
| "My texts do not deliver" | Partly fair | Restrictions are strict. In our accounts the cause was dirty lists, promo copy or registration, every time. |
| "Updates break my setup" | Partly fair | Reloaded snapshots and AI builders caused our worst surprises. Test after changes. |
| "Support is slow" | Mixed | We cannot measure this across accounts. Plans list 24/7 support. Premium support is $500 a month. |
| "The trial charged my card" | Partly fair | The 14-day trial bills automatically. The pricing page says so. Set a reminder on day 12. |
| "It is a get-rich agency scheme" | Unfair to the software | The hype comes from people reselling it. The software is a real CRM. Judge it on your use. |
7What breaks, and how do you fix it?
| What breaks | What you see | The fix |
|---|---|---|
| Text registration under the wrong business | Texts filtered, often after reusing an old sub-account | Register A2P under the business that sends |
| No global quiet hours | Leads get texts at 5am | Set the time window in every workflow that texts. Messages wait until it opens |
| Funnel-wide tracking scripts | Scripts in funnel-level body code did not run in our tests | Put scripts in each page's custom code, then test |
| Reloading a snapshot | New workflows point at old pipeline stages | After each load, check every workflow that moves a card |
| AI builders | Workflow AI dropped branches. Page AI made up testimonials | Build workflows by hand. Read every AI line |
A slow booking widget can drop completion to about 30%, against 65% to 70% on a fast one. Load your booking page on a phone on mobile data before ads go live.
8GoHighLevel vs HubSpot, in five lines
- Price. GoHighLevel is $97 a month flat. HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional is $890 a month paid monthly, with 3 seats and 2,000 contacts, plus a required $3,000 onboarding.
- Contacts and seats. Unlimited on GoHighLevel. Counted and charged on HubSpot.
- Texting and calendars. Built into GoHighLevel. HubSpot leans on email and add-ons.
- Reporting. HubSpot wins for large teams with managers.
- Our pick. A coach with a few reps: GoHighLevel. A 20-rep sales floor: look hard at HubSpot. More in GoHighLevel alternatives.

9Does the GoHighLevel review request tool work?
Yes. GoHighLevel review automation does the job. After a call or a purchase, a workflow sends a text or email asking for a Google or Facebook review. Reviews from both land in one place, and you reply from there. The GoHighLevel review widget shows them on your pages.
Reviews AI can draft or send replies. It costs $0.01 per sent reply on pay per use, and is included on the $50 and $97 AI Employee plans. The request texts are billed at normal text rates.

Google reviews matter most for local businesses. A coach selling on calls gets more from case studies and video testimonials. See our case studies for the format we use.
10Can you build a website on GoHighLevel?
Yes. It has a website builder, a funnel builder, blogs, forms and custom domains on every plan. Funnel and Website AI gives 1,000 free prompts a day per sub-account. WordPress hosting is an add-on from $10 a month per site.
We use it for opt-in, booking and thank-you pages. For a design-heavy brand site, a tool built only for pages is faster to work in. To compare builders, read ClickFunnels vs GoHighLevel or our ClickFunnels review.
11Who is GoHighLevel for, and who should skip it?
- Coaches who sell a high-ticket offer on calls
- Webinar, challenge or VSL funnels with reminders
- Agencies running one backend for many clients
- Nobody will build or run it
- A large sales floor that needs deep reporting
- A course seller with no calls. Try a course tool, or Skool for community
12Is GoHighLevel right for you? Score your fit
Two things decide it: enough calls to follow up, and someone to build it. It starts set up for Jordan, a made-up coach.
Working it out.
A hard limit (product type, team size, text registration) is flagged even when the total is high.
13Score your build: 8 questions, one fix
Most accounts we open have the pages done and the follow-up half built. Answer for how your account runs today.
Working it out.
Speed to lead, the calendar step and reminders weigh the most.
The no-show and lost-deal follow-ups are where most accounts leak. The show rate calculator writes the no-show messages, and the stalled deal tool writes the one for a lead who went quiet. About 80% of appointments come after 5 to 8 follow-ups.
14Is GoHighLevel worth the money?
A coach paying $150 to $350 a month all in covers a year with one $5,000 sale. The real question is whether the build gets more booked calls to show.
Operators running high ticket funnels commonly report that contacting a lead within 60 seconds makes a close far more likely, and that about half of buyers go with whoever responds first. GoHighLevel does that every time, if it is built to. If your build scores well and sales are still flat, the tool is not the problem. Take two minutes to find the exact bottleneck in your business.
15Worked example: Jordan moves to GoHighLevel
Jordan is a made-up coach selling a $6,000 program on calls, with ads to a webinar and two setters. He paid for five tools, and leads fell through the gaps.
- Week 1. Scores 21 of 21 on the fit scorer. Starts Starter. Text registration goes in on day one.
- Week 2. One webinar pipeline. Reminders and speed-to-lead built by hand, quiet hours on each.
- Launch. His first build score is 82, and it says not yet: the calendar sits on a second page. He moves it onto the form page and scores 100. A test lead runs every path and he cancels four old tools.
- Month 2. His bill is about $300. He moves promo texts to email to keep his error rate low.
16What to do this week
- Take the fit scorer and copy your next three steps.
- Start the 14-day trial only when you have a week free to build.
- Start text registration the day you open the account.
- Build the booked-call path first. Pages second.
- Already on GoHighLevel? Run the build score and fix the top item before you spend more on ads.
- Rather not build it? See our done-for-you webinar funnel, or see if you qualify for us to build it.

Frequently asked questions
Is GoHighLevel worth it?
For coaches who sell on calls, usually yes. We score it 8 out of 10. It replaces a CRM, email tool, texting app, scheduler and page builder from $97 a month plus usage. It is only worth it if someone builds it properly.
How much is it to use GoHighLevel?
Plans are $97, $297 or $497 a month, or 10 months' price paid yearly. Texts, calls, numbers, email and AI are billed on top. A coach running weekly webinars often pays a few hundred dollars a month in total. Checked on gohighlevel.com on 24 October 2026.
Is GoHighLevel a scam?
No. It is a real CRM with public pricing and a 14-day trial. The scam talk comes from people who sell "start an agency with it" programs. Judge the software on what you need it to do.
Can you make a website on GoHighLevel?
Yes. Every plan has a website builder, funnel builder, blogs, forms and custom domains. Funnel and Website AI gives 1,000 free prompts a day. WordPress hosting is an add-on from $10 a month per site.
Do Google reviews actually matter?
For local businesses, a lot, because people read them before they call. For a coach who sells on calls, case studies and video testimonials usually do more. GoHighLevel can ask for and reply to Google reviews either way.
Which is better, HubSpot or GoHighLevel?
GoHighLevel for coaches and small teams who want texts, calendars, email and pages at a flat $97. HubSpot for large sales teams that need deep reporting. HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional is $890 a month paid monthly, plus $3,000 onboarding.
Why do GoHighLevel texts fail?
In our accounts: dead numbers, promo-style copy and text registration under the wrong business. Once failures pass about a 10% error rate, HighLevel restricts sending and the rest of a blast fails. Clean the list, write plain texts and send in smaller batches.
Is there a free version of GoHighLevel?
No. There is a 14-day free trial on any plan, and your card is charged when it ends unless you cancel. Some AI tools, like Funnel AI, are free within daily limits.
Not sure your GoHighLevel build is working?
We look at your offer and backend and tell you what we would fix first. If you're not a fit, we say so.
