What Is GoHighLevel? How Coaches Actually Use It

GoHighLevel is an all-in-one CRM that puts your pipeline, calendars, texts, email, funnel pages and payments in one account. Plans start at $97 a month. Coaches use it to book sales calls, remind people to show up and follow up with no-shows. It does nothing on its own. The value comes from how it is set up.

On a backend we run in it, one client booked 664 sales calls in three months. Results are not typical.

Prices checked on gohighlevel.com/pricing and HighLevel's help center on 24 October 2026.

1What is GoHighLevel, in one minute?

GoHighLevel, also called HighLevel or GHL, is a CRM. A CRM is the place where every lead lives, with their name, number, history and where they are in your sales process.

It also sends the texts and emails, hosts the booking calendar, builds the pages and takes the payment. So when someone opts in, books, misses a call or buys, the next step fires on its own.

2What does GoHighLevel replace in a coach's stack?

Closing the gaps between tools matters more than the savings. A lead who books in one app and gets texts from another is the lead who slips. Contacting a lead within 60 seconds makes a close far more likely. One system makes that instant reply easy.

3Agency account vs sub-account: which one do you need?

Agency accountThe top layer
  • Holds your plan and billing
  • Creates and copies sub-accounts
  • Saves whole builds as snapshots
vs
Sub-accountOne business
  • Its own contacts and pipeline
  • Its own phone numbers and texting
  • Where the daily work happens

Every plan has both layers. A coach with one business needs one sub-account, so Starter at $97 covers it, with room for two more. You only need Unlimited ($297) when you run more than 3 businesses or want clients to pay their own usage.

If someone builds it for you, they can work inside your account as a user. Users are unlimited, so adding a builder or a setter costs nothing extra.

4How do you set up GoHighLevel for a call-booking funnel?

This is the order we use on client builds. Booked-call path first, pages second.

  1. Set the time zone and business details. Every wait step and reminder runs off the sub-account time zone. Get it right before anything else.
  2. Start text registration and buy a local number on day one. Register (A2P) under the business that actually sends. Carriers approve it, so it is the step you cannot rush. $22.50 once for most coaches.
  3. Connect your own email sending domain. Set SPF, DKIM and DMARC so email lands in the inbox, not spam.
  4. Build one pipeline for the funnel. Stages that match what a lead does: Opted in, Booked, Showed, Closed, Lost.
  5. Put the form and the calendar on the same page. The lead answers your questions, then picks a time, with no second page in between. About half of qualified applicants never book when the calendar sits on a separate page. Load it on your phone on mobile data. A slow booking widget can drop completion to about 30%, against 65% to 70% on a fast one.
  6. Build the workflows. A text within minutes of opt-in, confirmations, reminders and a no-show follow-up. Set quiet hours inside each workflow that texts. There is no global setting.
  7. Test every path, then save a snapshot. Use your own phone. Book, no-show, rebook, buy. Then save the build as a snapshot: your backup and your template.
Your GoHighLevel build list
1. What does a lead see before they book?
2. Who takes the sales calls?
3. Do you have a setter who calls new leads?
4. Where are most of your leads?
5. How far ahead can people book?

Build list

Build time is our own estimate for one person who knows GoHighLevel, before carrier approval for texting.

Three settings in that list do most of the work. Letting calls start every 15 minutes lifts both bookings and show rate. Send the second confirmation request 27 hours before the call, so an unconfirmed call can be freed up a full day ahead. And leads who accept the calendar invite show at about 85%, so the confirmation page should tell people to open that email and click yes.

Operators running high ticket funnels commonly report the best reminder rhythm is 24 hours before, the morning of, and 1 hour before the call. After two weeks live, check your show rate or run it through the show rate calculator. To write the form questions, the confirmation page and the pre-call messages for your own offer, get the application funnel builder skill.

Connecting outside AI. People searching "GoHighLevel MCP" want to plug an assistant like Claude into their account. HighLevel has been adding ways to do that. What is live changes fast, so check its help center for your account.

Our experience. The AI builders save typing. In our tests the workflow AI dropped branches and made duplicates, and the page AI made up testimonials. We build workflows by hand and read every AI line before it goes live.

7Is GoHighLevel reliable?

The software stays up. Texting breaks, and it breaks because of how accounts are set up. These numbers are from two client accounts we run, names left out.

58%of 19,600 texts failed in 30 days in one account
8,951of 10,000 failures were HighLevel's own block, not carriers
563 to 19failed texts a day, two days after the fix

Blasts went to old, dead numbers and used promo copy: prices, "only 3 spots left", bare links. Once about 10% of sends errored, HighLevel put a temporary restriction on the account and blocked the rest of each blast.

To fix it, we set 119 invalid numbers to Do Not Disturb, moved promos to email, kept texts short and plain, and cut the daily send limit from 10,000 to 316 until it was clean. In a second account, 928 numbers that failed for reasons other than carrier filtering got the same treatment.

It is reliable if someone looks after it. Our GoHighLevel review lists every problem we fix and our score. If your texts land and calls still do not turn into sales, the software is not the problem. Take two minutes to find the exact bottleneck in your business.

9Worked example: Priya's first 30 days

Priya is a made-up coach. She sells a $4,000 program on calls, with one setter. She pays for five tools and sends 1,500 texts and 20,000 emails a month.

LineBeforeOn GoHighLevel
Pages$97.00Starter $97.00
Calendar, 2 seats$20.00Included
Email$33.00$13.50
Zapier$29.99Included
Texting, 1,500 texts$94.00$34.99
Total a month$273.99$145.49

Week 1: time zone, text registration and her sending domain. Week 2: pipeline, calendar, reminders and a no-show text. Week 3: pages move over, she tests every path on her phone. Week 4: she cancels four tools.

She saves about $128 a month, or $1,542 a year. The bigger number is the calls that now show up because the reminders never miss.

10What to do this week

  1. List every tool you pay for. Put the real prices in the stack calculator and copy your switch plan.
  2. Run the build list above and send it to whoever will build it.
  3. Decide who will build it. If nobody, do not start the trial yet. If you want us to build it, see if you qualify.
  4. Start the 14-day trial on a week you can build. The clock starts on day one.
  5. Start text registration the same day.
  6. Build the booked-call path first: confirmations, reminders, no-shows.
  7. Keep your old tools until the new path works end to end.

Frequently asked questions

How much is it to use GoHighLevel?

Starter is $97 a month, Unlimited $297 and Agency Pro $497, or 10 months' price paid yearly. Texts, email, calls and AI are billed on top by use. Priced at today's rates, a coach with modest volume usually lands around $150 to $350 a month in total. Checked on gohighlevel.com on 24 October 2026.

What is the GoHighLevel CRM?

It is GoHighLevel's contact and pipeline system. Each lead has a record with their messages, bookings and payments, and sits in a pipeline stage like Booked or Showed. Moving a lead between stages can start texts, emails or tasks on its own.

How do you set up GoHighLevel?

Set the time zone, start text registration and buy a number, connect your email domain, build one pipeline, set up the calendar, build the reminder and no-show workflows, then test every path with your own phone and save a snapshot. A full call-booking backend takes us about one to two weeks.

Is GoHighLevel reliable?

The platform is stable. Texting is where accounts get into trouble, usually from dead numbers and promo-style texts that trigger a temporary sending restriction. Clean lists, plain texts and quiet hours set in each workflow fix most of it.

Is GoHighLevel good for coaches?

For coaches who sell on calls, yes. It books the call, reminds the lead and follows up on no-shows from one account. For a coach who only sells a course from a page with little follow-up, a simpler tool may fit better.

How do I log in to GoHighLevel?

At app.gohighlevel.com, unless the agency that set up your account gave you its own branded login link. Use that link if you have one.

How do I contact GoHighLevel support?

Every plan lists 24/7 support. Start in the help center at help.gohighlevel.com, which also links to chat. Premium support is a $500 a month add-on.

Is there a free version of GoHighLevel?

No. There is a 14-day free trial on every plan, and your card is charged when it ends unless you cancel. Some AI tools, like Funnel AI, are free within daily limits.

Is there a GoHighLevel 30 day trial?

The GoHighLevel free trial on gohighlevel.com is 14 days on every plan. Some links from the GoHighLevel affiliate program offer 30 days. Either way, your card is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel, so start it on a week you can build.
