Skool vs Circle: Which Makes Coaches More Money?

For most coaches, Skool makes more money. At every member count we tested, Skool costs less once you add Circle's fee and Stripe's card fee, and Skool's Discovery search brings members for free. Pick Circle if you need your own brand, a custom domain, many separate spaces or built-in email.

2Which one costs less at your member count?

Skool costs less at every size we checked. The gap grows with your sales, because Circle stacks its own cut on top of Stripe's. Full monthly bill, plan plus every fee:

GroupSales a monthSkoolCircleSkool saves a year
25 members at $49$1,225$139 Hobby$156.53 Professional$210
100 members at $49$4,900$271.10 Pro$359.10 Professional$1,056

50 members at $297$14,850$544.65 Pro$793.15 Business$2,982

Each column uses the cheaper plan for that size. Skool switches from Hobby to Pro at about $1,268 a month in sales. Circle switches from Professional to Business at about $11,000. Below $500 a month in sales, Circle Professional is cheaper than Skool Pro, but Skool Hobby is cheaper than both.

8Worked example: Dana picks a platform

Made-up example. Dana is a business coach. She has 150 paying members at $59 a month and sells a $3,000 program on calls. She is choosing between Skool and Circle.

    Skool ProCircle Professional
    Sales a month$8,850$8,850
    Plan$99$89
    Platform fee$301.65$177
    Stripe feeIncluded$301.65
    Total a month$400.65$567.65

Skool keeps her $167 more a month, about $2,004 a year. She scores 14 to 1 for Skool on the check, because she does not need a branded hub. About 10% of group joiners buy the next offer, when about a third get on a call and 30% to 50% of those close. For Dana, one extra $3,000 sale a month is worth more than the whole fee gap for a year.

9What we see across our Skool builds

Two client results. Not typical. One built $143K a year in recurring memberships from zero. Another, John Duda, reached 23,403 free and 659 paying Skool members.

    10What to do this week

    1. Write down your paying members and your price today.
    2. Run the calculator above. Note the yearly gap.
    3. Take the 6-question check. If Circle wins on brand or spaces, list what that is worth to you in dollars.
    4. If you are already on Circle and Skool wins, start a 14-day Skool trial and move one small cohort first, using the six-step move plan and announcement email.
    5. Read the Skool pricing breakdown to pick Hobby or Pro.
    6. Compare the other options in Skool alternatives, Skool vs Kajabi and Skool vs Whop.
